A buckthorn west of Rosa Rd. This tree was probably cut years ago but not treated with herbicide. Buckthorn aggressively resprouts unless you dab (not spray) some herbicide on the stump. We girdled these trees -- cutting the connective tissue but not felling them right away. Girdling makes it easier to work in the woods.
